story telling whether fact or fiction feeds into Blongs work. Fables culture and personal experience intermingle to create a metaphoric vocabulary. The language repeatedly expressed throughout her work becomes faimilar and decipherable, inviting the viewer to weave their own story.

Strongly influenced by latin artists:it is the magic, mysticim and childlike wonder of this culture that inspires. Often looking to folk art and primitive works
she enjoys creating the essence of a time bygone, perhaps a dreamlike state.

Blong works from her home studio in Aucklands Muriwai Beach, her work is held in New Zealand and international collections.
